• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New hood

You're supposed to cover your air filter and coil packs when you wash the engine, so your logic is flawed. Wet coil packs make for a sh!tty running car.

I do cover the filter yes. I have never covered the coil packs, but I don't soak them either. Still today my car runs great.

I will have to pay attention next time it rains.

If you washing your car affects your SEALED coil packs I have some bad news for you. They are suppose to be sealed, there is a rubber gasket to seal the connection to the module under them, and the rubber booty on the plug wires... yea. I soak it all down with the car still running at the power wash, only think I cover or keep from spraying is the filter and never had a problem.

Alternator is sealed or should be for any critical parts
Fuse box cover should be on
Ignition coils/module is sealed or should be for any critical parts.

If NOT... you need replacements.

The only problem is the air filter is open for water getting in while driving in wet weather. If it were me I would look into fabricating a shield similar to the K&N one to keep water from getting to it. Wouldn't be hard, cardboard cuttout and design until you get it perfect and then use some aluminum or plexi-glass with a foam seal around the outside. There are youtube videos of how to bend acrylic plexi-glass to shape it how you want it, then dremel it to shape, foam tube insulators with a slice cut into it and glued into place and done. Paint it if you want and install. No more worry with water and cheap enough to do if your up for the challenge.
