Boring the motor out would be a nice touch, otherwise since you'll have the motor pretty much disassembled, getting everything else balanced, re-surfaced, sand blasted, and smooth would do you good too...... Personally if i had the time i would have my motor bored out (honestly i would get a stroker kit) and anything else neccessary

Yup, once the motor is out the next step is to choose depending on ya pocket size at the moment. You may not need any boring depending on if ya motor has been taken care of, but truing and balancing here & there is always good.....
 
Well I'm single and in the army on a deployment, Plus I have a beat on bored and decked block with balanced crank. Money wise I have deep pockets just sometimes it takes a month to get all the money.
