Hey, NOOB here. I'll admit it. anyways I have a 98 GT that I want to turbo. It seems to be the best bang for buck route. I plan to piece my set together...while doing fab work if I have to. I plan to keep my GP as a DD. it has about 165 on the clock, and a rebuilt tranny.

What turbo should I use? I want something thats small enough to spool up fairly quickly, but still able to give gobs of power.

I was planning to do a rear mounted turbo, unless you can convince me not to.

also, I will need to rebuild my tranny or diff (?) to withstand up to 500 hp. Any DIY kits?

Going turbo is expensive. If you are asking about rebuilding differentials then you probably dont realize that a more reliable transmission on a 400-500hp setup will cost you more then your turbo kit.

Go to tripleedgeperformance.com for info on the tranny. As mentioned, upgrading the transmission to hold 500hp is going to be a big cost.

For the turbo, there are a lot of options. The T67 or PT-61 seem to be the choice of many, and zzp is offering a BW 56mm, which would probably be good.
