• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

checking in from Dallas, tx. found this site while searching the web for some maintenance info on my wife's '01 GTP. we purchased the car new in mid-2000. it's been a great car eventhough we have had some typical GM issues. my wife still loves it even after nearly 100k miles. she's not ready to replace it (we can't afford to anyway) so I'm doing my best to keep it in good shape for her.

her GTP is a dk. blue 4-door with charcoal grey interior, Bose stereo and a sunroof. no major mods, but I did install a Thrasher shift kit, smaller s/c pulley and CAI back in 2002. also replaced the O2 u-bend and the resonator with a 2 1/2" straight pipe about the same time.

the car runs and drives great but the mileage is starting to catch up to it. current maintenance issues:
- driver-side inboard CV boot slinging grease
- front hubs starting to loosen up a little
- A/C compressor has the "death rattle" (disconnected clutch solenoid to prevent compressor siezure)

thanks for the welcomes. planning to dig into some of the GTP's issues this weekend. ordered replacment hubs and half-shafts from RockAuto. the A/C compressor will have to wait. :th_depressed: fortunatley it's still cold here in Dallas.

one other issue I forgot to mention in my first post is an SES trouble code that keeps popping up. I pulled and cleared the code a few weeks ago but I don't remember what number the code was. I'll post up with that asap. but I remember the code was *not* listed in the book that came with my code scanner so I checked the net and found several sites that indiecated that particular code is for one of the temperature sensors "out of range". don't remember if it was the coolant temp. sensor or the IAT sensor or soemthing else. the code was gone for a few days then popped up again so I'll pull the code again this evening and start a new thread on this in the appropriate forum.

Thanks,
Rob

welcome what size of pulley?

yeah....that's a good question... :th_scratchhead: that was 7 or 8 years ago and I don't remember. I purchased the pulley from Thrasher and I think it was just one size smaller than stock. I remember it was the smallest size you could supposedly run without having to upgrade the injectors. since it's my wife's car, I never really planned to go crazy with the mods - just wanted liven it up a little over stock. those mods have worked well for nearly 9 years now.

thanks again for all the welcomes. I'll post a couple of pictures soon.

TurboTrav - checked the Thrasher website and now I remember it's a 3.4" pulley. like I said this was 7 or 8 years ago so it was before they had the "modular" pulley system. another local guy had the pulley tool and installed it for me in less than 10 minutes.

still haven't had time to go pull that SES code again. maybe tonight...
