new guy, big transmission question

grandprix92

New member
hey guys, i own a 92 pontica grand prix se and my sister has a 95 grand prix se

new this forum.

got a 92 pontica grand prix, with a somewhat hopped up engine been sitting for well over 5-6 years,

the transmission went out on us awhile ago it will still drive while its cold but once it warms up it wont move.

i have a good tranmission but i have no clue how you tear out a transmission in one of these cars, im guessing you have to drop the whole front engine frame is that right?

where should i post my problem? what section?

thanks for the help

Assuming the older cars have a subframe, yes you could drop both out the bottom.

Or remove the motor, then remove the transmission out the top. Either way works.

It's the same as 97-03, you can drop the subframe or pull motor and tranny together thru the top. That's what I did on the 89 parts gp I had.
