New gt prix owner

And also ive been doing some research and keep seeing ported and polished lower intake l36 for $ 150 and up. Is this a good mod to start with what are the good and bad for this product? I was thinkin bout doing a u ben delete resonator(still dont know what one no rasp more muscle, even though its not but better than ricer) into some muffler still not sure, and ported rear manifold or power log. Whats the difference? thanks

well, i'm not en expert on the subject, but i don't think you can really take advantage of a ported lower intake manifold without something else to help more air come in. and, if you're feeling confident in yourself, porting is really something that can be done in your garage with a little time and elbow grease. i haven't personally done it, but a lot of guys on here have. a u-bend delete really helps exhaust flow but i don't think that's part of the resonator, idk i could be mistaken. and a powerlog (plog) is a replacement for the front exhaust manifold, not the rear. the front one tends to be really restrictive, and with a plog, usually a 3" downpipe is used along with it to really help flow.

honestly, if you're looking boost performance, a top swap would be the way to go. with a little shopping around, you can do this for under a grand. and because the L36 has higher compression, if it's done right and you're not knocking it'll be faster than a stock gtp.

dont mod your GT, top swap it and throw headers on at the same time.

It'd be a grand, but you'd come out FAR ahead of where you'd be if you were to spend a grand on your GT

well the car is gonna be my dd I have a mustang thats currently being restored so i picked this up cause i always wanted one. and i just found out that i have a rusty oil pan and the dealer wanted to charge 550 to replace, so i told them to eat it and i just got the car tuesday. so i wasnted to throw a few things on there to wake it up a bit so a top swap would be out of the question. basicaly free up the exhaust cold ai and call it a day?

Headers and a short ram intake would serve you well then.

Then possibly some ER rockers and a HV3.

But by the time you spend that, you're looking at top swap costs. :D

I mean its just a head gasket job basically. Stay out of boost and you'll have the same fuel mileage, some even report increased fuel economy (this doesnt make sense to me but I'm not going to argue about it)

You'd also get to change the LIM gasket which probably needs to be replaced with the GM aluminum one.

it's weird but it's true, the parts you need to top swap are so common because they were used on so many gm cars, it really is the cheapest way to get a good amount of power out of a gt. i mean, even headers are probably half the cost of one if you're patient and look for cheap parts

umm yea how do i load up some pics, wanna show you guys what im working with thanks haha... Sorry stupid newbie..

^^ nevermind, sorry takes awhile to get used to a new site, but i love it so far. just really trying to figure out my exhaust idea. really want not to sound like a ricer at all more beefy.
