New Grand Prix: Mod Questions

Hey guys, I am new to the site. I just got my 2002 Grand Prix GT and am now looking into doing some basic performance mods to it. I have been searching the site for the last few days now and enjoy being able to find all this useful information.

So far I have decided on getting:

1. Wizaired CAI
2. Overkill PCM
3. Downpipe
4. 180 T-stat

I do however have some questions that I could not find answers to.

Should I wait till after I get the CAI, T-stat, and downpipe before I get the PCM? I know I have to email them with the mods I have done. I am wondering if they program the PCM differently if I end up not getting one of the parts I am planning on?

Should I get the 2.5 or 3 inch inch bolt in with cat downpipe?

I do not plan on doing anything major besides these upgrades. I do not see me adding a supercharger or turbo setup at any time....even though it would be fun.

Get the PCM anytime. It really does not matter with those mods.


And take a look at an intake you may have missed. They should be back soon.

if anyone tells you to get anything less than a 3" downpipe they must have downs.

with those mods and a good tune, your car will be a whole 'nother beast.

Well your mod list is my exact setup (recently sold the wizard). I have the overkill pcm tuned for those mods that you want, If you want it for purchase send me a pm and we can talk pricing.

Thanks for the info guys. Once I get this little money situation figured out I will post with any additional questions I may have.

As far as the downpipe is concerned, how difficult of a job is it? How long would it take? Any instuctions out there I could take a look at?

if you have air tools...an hour. if you have to fight all the rusted bolts with hand tools then it makes it much harder.
