• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New from Ohio

Aap should carry them. They are not too bad to change once you get the axle nut off. That can be a real pain in the a$$ unless you have a STRONG impact. as far as price goes aap has a pair for 145$ pt # 513121. If your taking it down that far I would replace the axles too. depending on the mileage of car. aap has them as well 70$ ea. or you can buy from GM for 110$ ea.

Usually you don't need to replace the axles unless the CV boots are broken. Once you get the axle nut off (36 mm) you need to take the brake caliper bracket off (2) 15 mm bolts, then there are 3 bolts (13 mm) that hold the hub in the steering knuckle. Just be careful not to damage your ABS connector or wire putting the new one in.

I only suggested it because its easy to do if its that far apart already. My boots were not torn or leaking grease, but did click occasionally. did bearings and axles at same time. like I said depends on mileage

reverse did a little bit not too much. While driving in traffic letting off gas then on again would produce a clunk noise which dissapeared with the new axles installed

Thanks for the info. Her car only has 48,000 miles on it. None of this should have happened if she just would have drove it semi-normal.
