Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

New from Northern Indiana

Hey my name is Josh. I am a senior in high school who drives the only maroon colored Grand Prix in my town. I came across this forum a little while ago and it was very helpful to me when I was having a few "issues" with my car. I was very impressed and decided to join just a few nights ago when I remembered about this sight.
I bought my car in june of 2009 from a dealership here in my town. It is a maroon colored 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT now with 103256 miles. At the time I didn't know what I was getting into, but my parents and I had enough insight to get a power train warranty with the car. Boy am I glad we did. Problem after problem have hit me. First it was the windsheild wipers and the fluid pump. The pump didn't work and the wipers only worked half the time. After I fixed that, the stater went out. More money to fix that and then the cylender in the ignition took a poop. Then after that, the worst of all, the entire engine block seized up. As it turns out, the high school girl who owned the car before my tore the living crap out of it. So, slowly but surely, I have been bringing the car back from going over the brink. A list of all the parts I have replaced : wind sheild wiper fluid pump, wipers themselves, ignition, starter, entire engine, two wheel bearings, multiple engine belts, and a few small misceleanous parts. I still have to replace the shocks, struts, brakes, and headlight units. The car is also in dire need for a new paint job. Since May, the car has been running great with no new problems though. Despite all the problems I have had with this car though, I absolutely love it! The car handles amazingly, better than any other car I have ever driven. The interior is all black leather and in great condition. An after market sun roof was installed in the car, making it only one of its kind. I am yet to see a 2002 Grand Prix GT like mine with a sunroof. My project this summer was to completely over haul the stereo system, which was still the stock one. The privious owner also somehow managed to blow the two Bose woofers on the rear deck. So I installed two new Sony 6" x 9" speakers in their place. I put in a JVC aftermarket stereo up front and then toped it all off with the beasts in the trunk, two 12" audiopipe 750 watt subwoofers with an Autotek 1000 watt amp powering them. It is now nice and loud, just the way I like it.
I treat this car the best that I can now. Taking care of the body by washing and waxing it at least once a month. I plan on replacing most of the parts that I can to make this car last forever. I would trade it for nothing. I am definently a huge Grand Prix fan!
To top it all off, last tuesday my girlfriend bought a black 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 166 thousand miles on it. The guy who previously owned it before her was a true pontiac lover because this car, for how many miles it has, is in near perfect condition.

So that is my story. If I have any questions I know where to come to ask them. I look forward to talking to some of you guys in the future.

thanks

Welcome, I am new here as of Labor Day weekend, and after hitting a deer with a 97 GT I had for 1 WEEK, I am searching for another... should have the search finished by this coming weekend. I am from the Indy area myself.

welcome! how close are you to the illinois indiana border?

meet soon: http://www.grandprixforums.net/official-chicagoland-meet-oct-23-a-37351.html#post438494

I live in a little town called North Manchester which is just outside of Fort Wayne. It is closer to the Ohio border. It would be around a two and a half to a three and a half hour for me. And the 23rd, next Saturday, I am going to be busy with a school program that I have to run. Otherwise I would try to make it.
