Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

"New" from IA with boost issues

so I registered 2 years ago to learn a bit when I was buying my 2nd car my 98 gtp. my first car was a 97 regal gs which I still have, at the moment it is faster than my modded gtp because it only gets 4 or 5/10 bars on the boost gauge.

When I bought my gtp it was very fast and hit all 10 bars, about 6 months later the SC started sputtering and only went up to 5 bars. this car was broken for like another 6 months (fuel pump) recently fixed it, ran fuel injector cleaner thru it and it made a ton of difference. but it still lacks boost.

mods from the previous owner:
bored over to 3.9liter
full 3'' exhaust pacesetter headers and mufflers
3.4 pully
160 t stat

I dont have a garage and dont know how to work on cars yet but I would love to learn. these mods are doing me no good with a boost leak. I plan to read posts and figure this out but Id like to know what the most common reasons for this are or where to start as my mechanic skills are very limited at the moment, I do have friends who might be able to help me. thanks brahs

Ok I read around a bit and I'm going to try this. Just want to make sure I unplug the right line. there is only one line that runs from the actuator to the solenoid right? and thats the one I unplug and cap off, but leave the nipple part of the actuator open?

I said unplug the electrical connector going to the solenoid.

You don't want to cap off or re-route any of the lines.

That is just a test to see if you "boost" returns, if so, then either you need to buy a new solenoid of the BBV itself is at fault.

I unplugged the solenoid and ran it I hit 6/10 bars. somehow it feels faster but not so much from 50-75. I will try and get a video up. the previous owner told me he replaced the actuator so I doubt that's the problem but I will check it out
