New DP or just change Cat?

Howdy All:
The Wife's 2001 GT is throwing a P0420 code. Car has 144,000+ miles. She has put a couple of thousand on it herself since buying it. This is the first time the SES has come on. I figure it is a plugged Cat.

Since I am going to replace it anyways, I was wondering if a 2.5 inch DP from ZZ Performance would be the way to go. Problem is I don't want to lose any bottom end power. It's what she likes about the car.

The other thing is I don't want any exhaust resonance and wondered if the single walled tubing would create some.

Thanks in advance.

with a ZZP DP.... the P0420 is essentially all you have to worry about.

If you get their cat, it may very well throw that code since their cats aren't that effective.

Sound wise, it wont be any different if you get a DP with a cat.

Nor will you sacrifice much, if at all of the low end torque.
