I've searched the interwebs high and low, but I can't seem to find a new Driver's Info Center for my '97... The one I currently have doesn't have a button to turn the traction On/Off... It just tells me tire pressure, low trac, and then says "Drivers Information Center" in the corner... I know the old owners did a 40th Anni swap in this car, so could the Center be from a different GM car, aswell?

97gtps did not have an option to turn tcs on and off. It has a different abs/torque management system than 98 plus. You can only put a 97 dic.into it.
 
I get that much, my problem is finding one that matches mine, regardless of what year I look up they ALL have the traction button... I can't seem to find one that doesn't...
 
Is the lcd.not.lighting up? Its just 3 bulbs you can swap.out. that dic is specific to a 97gtp only.
 
It doesn't light up, during the day I don't care too much, because I can see it anyway- but the screen itself is quirky, buttons decide not to work, the connections seem okay, so I was gonna grab another and see if anything changes, but as I said, that exact one seems to be extinct...
 
Pull it out, change the bulbs, if still funky, find a 97gtp part out...they get mislabeled all the time as 97 to 03 dics, that is incorrect...and the bulbs burn out easly as well.
 


97gts had the button that says TRAC if I.remeber correctly..no sure.. the non supercharged cars had a traction control system, the supercharged gtps did not as gm did not have a strong enough system to handle the torque from a sc motor until 98.
 
I don't think changing the bulbs will stop it from switching my HUD back and fourth from English/Metric at random, buuuut... I guess I'll have to start checking scrapyards :th_BSflag-small: This cars lucky I love her
 


I have a 97 DIC for sale. Selling it cheap as well. It came out of a GT but it has a boost gauge which I thought was weird. PM me or check out my FS thread
