The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Well after several years I'm back in a GP again. I had many various cars but for some reason missed my gp. So I went out searching specifically for a low mileage comp g. Found this beauty 04 65k original miles. Previous owner was on club gp. He put plenty of money into it. Made it a show car. Not a scratch on it. Looking forward to getting back in the community again. It seems all but dead. Not like it was when I had my first 99 gtp, but glad some of you out there still are gp enthusiast.
Oh hey, I was wondering when this beauty was gonna show back up...
Planning anything for it, or just keeping it looking amazing for all of us to drool over? Lol
There's a few still around from before, a lot of them have moved on though...
Most of it is just people with problems they can't figure out, and there's a very small number that are actually still in the game, or just starting to get into it (me lol).
There's more than just me that want to see more of this car, I suggest a thread in the member's rides section.
not me - I was kevlargtp on club gp since like 06ish- used more as resource then post. But back in the day MNCLUBGP - kevlarcompg on that forum - was great. I'm so mad it's gone along with gpona- tons of good info there. I had a 99gtp and a 04 comp g just like my current one. I feel so old lol. lino lakes area here btw
Your right rick/rkelc did take care of this car. He was a down right freak - it was a garage baby. But I couldn't think of a better person to buy a car from. The list of things he did is endless and Flip spent a lot of time on this car as well. I won't lower it, but I will swap headlights - driving at night brings back memories of how horrendous the light output was on these. I spent a lot of time on my last gp with lighting. I was gonna do a morimoto mini swap but found a guy that does retro on here for reasonable price. Don't want the stupid led strip halo etc. Just nice projector hids.
Wasn't problem free under the hood though. LIM gasket leaked both valve covers leaked oil pan leak. Normal 3800 stuff. Just surprised at 65k....called gm since mine is part of recall for front valve fire maker cover, no idea when parts would be in to fix. So had my shop Fixed all that with felpro gaskets and new wheel bearings and links - just need some new tires since they were chopped and wore.
Rims are just cheap eBay Effects wheelz. I do like them. 18x8 245/45- love.the custom comp g badges rick made for car. So many details only I would appreciate or a fellow gp owner.
10 years ago I would of said it's to slow and need to mod asap. Now I'm actually OK with the power......for now
Downpipe tune maybe RR. My areoforce Guage shows 3-6* of knock - pathetic for stock car. Wanna get rid of that so it's running clean. Unlike the last owner I will acctualy drive this lol. Not much. Maybe 5 K a year so it does need to be reliable and practical to a degree I had some brilliant guys tune my last gps so.i never cared to learn how myself. Now local club gone so wish I would have learned.
This car sure turns heads. My favorite compliment is "what the hell is it?" sure missed the blower whine. No wonder I haven't got over 19 mpg lol.
I think just some Vogtlands or Eibachs wouldn't be too bad, those are barely over an inch drop...
On that recall, the dealerships like taking the engine cover and tossing it, along with the extension tube.
I would say headers and a tune would clean up that kr in a heartbeat, eBay SD headers are like $225 and there's a few guys near you that are wizards with a tuner, FFDP is one that I know of.
Hope to see more, sounds like you got a good plan already. Lol
