Hey guys just thought id pop in here as i could use some pointers and info and such about the GTP engines, I have a 1988 Pontiac Fiero GT and I'm swapping in a 2002 Grand Prix GTP 40th Anniversary engine, pcm, harness, and hopefully seats. Nice to be here, hopefully i can learn from you guys.

not far and it was a theft recovery and the front end is trashed so its not worth much but parts and i like the seats and the price is right the guy is selling it for 700obo thats canadian dollars

yea its solid, no rust on anything even the exhaust is rust free which is amazing, there's a broken mount bracket but i have to change it out for the swap anyway, no damage to the body, missing tear drop glass but i have that on its way, broken mirror but thats kinda minor, other than that and a lense missing on a signal/marker light no damage of any kind, and i traded my 240sx that had a rusting out frame for it and 600$ so i figure, bonus haha, and yea im gonna take the pcm maybe, wiring harness, and engine and might stuff the seats in the fiero, after that im gonna be parting it out where i can.

p.s

I wouldn't just rip apart a 40th just for a build if it wasn't past the point of no return, but i figure i might as well salvage what i can right.

welcome! and eh...its a 40th anniversary grand prix...who cares. fiero should be pretty quick when youre done with it. good luck

smaller pulley on supercharger (haven't decided on size) full forged rebuild on the block, NIC Cam, 42# injectors, and getting the heads rebuilt for performance too. or thats the plan, it will take some time but we'll see what happens.

why forged?

On second thought, why bother touching the short block at all?

Stick a cam in it and call it done. (stock replacement timing set unless going over 105 springs, then have the crank gear machined to match stock)

Work the heads. And don't buy lucas/delphi 42.5 injectors.

what's the stock bottom end good up to? i guess i dont need rediculous power in a fiero tho... i just thought forged bottom end would give a sense of security on the track. i hear with NIC cam 42# injectors 2.8" pulley and a ZZP tune can run 12s in a GTP so i dunno if i need a lot in a fiero haha.

Much more than you'll make with an M90, thats for sure.

You'll want a wideband and to pay close attention to the tune, meaning an in car tune with the NIC.

also in the plan but for starters im gonna send my pcm out to get set up so i can at least drive it to a dyno to get dyno tuned
