Hey guys,

Names Corey from Dayton Ohio.
Just got my first GTP about 2 weeks ago, and I must say I am in love =)
great running car, no death dash lights / or tranny problems. Car has about 190,000 miles ( you would never know without looking ) which is why im concerned, should I or should I not try to upgrade the car for more boost and HP ? If so, what should I change or upgrade.. Kinda young here and don't make the greatest amount of money but I do work full-time.

Thanks

Hey i just talked to you haha. I have the 99 gtp parting out. Search for the safely modding your 3800 thread.

throttle body.. now is that the big box that has my stock filter in it? im clueless lmao... I know I want a open cone air filter so I can hear my s/c cuz I can barely hear it.... just wondering if I gotta go w/ the whole kit.. esp, K&N kit is 300$... also my s/c is making a small rattle noise, looked it up guess its the coupler... seems easy to fix and not very pricey....

some of the filters come with adapters so they can fit on 2.5 3 and 3.5 i think throttle body is a little bigger than 3

Does THIS look right???? I used some kinda hard plastic to keep them both together tightly... Tho, I didn't really notice a difference?

Your MAF is attached to the throttle body. Your IAT sensor is the sensor in the elbow. Just wiggle the stock tubing to get it off of the throttle body. You can keep the filter you have, just remove the stock tubing and replace that with a coupler. Or you can cut of the corrugated part of the stock tubing (most restrictive part) and keep the stock elbow. Get a piece of 3" pvc pipe and connect between your cone and elbow like this

got rid of the rubber elbow. (cut it off ) and used the pvc pipe, mine curves kinda so dunno if that makes a difference or not. But I got it on, looks better too lol
