Need Transmission answers!!

Ok, heres the thing, im doing a Transmission Swap in my 2003 Grand Prix GT 3.8L (4t65e). Now, my question is will a trans from a 2000 Grand Prix GT 3.8L work in my 2003? If not, Why? And is there a way around to make it work?
 


I don't have all the answers but one thing for sure is that a 2000 transmission into a 2003 is not straight forward. They fit the same but the valve body and the way they are controlled are different. 2003 was the transition year basically, they upgraded parts so on for the 04+ body style.

Certain parts will need to be swapped over to the 00 to work like a plug and play unit.
 
Change or reprogram the PCM for the trans, and you will probably be good to go.

The 2003 is picky about their programming....2000 isn't.
