• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Need Suggestions...

Ok, I'll start out with the first problem that I had...

I started my car up the other day and upon putting into drive found that I only had 3rd gear, or second if I manually down shifted... had codes P0753, P0758, P1860. I found another thread on here where someone had the exact same problem and went through all of the same steps he did to troubleshoot. After a day of tracing wires, checking ohms and checking grounds I finally worked my way back to the fuse box where I found that I was not getting any 12v power to fuse #31 which controls the TCC. My ABS light was also on, so I checked fuse #28 and sure enough, no 12v source there either. After running a 12v jumper lead to both of these circuits I cleared the codes and everything was good. I came to the conclusion that maybe the fuse box was going bad. However, coming home from work the next day the tranny started shifting really harsh into every gear, then about five minutes later I lost all but 3rd gear again(unless manually shifted into 2nd). When I got home I checked the codes again and got p0716, p0748, and p0758. I emailed Dave(Trannyman) and he suggested the ignition switch, which made sense b/c my blower motor and auto headlights would cut out every now and then, so I knew it needed to be done anyways. I replaced it yesterday, cleared the codes, and before I could get out of the driveway it threw the same three codes again. I have another fuse box on the way, hopefully it will be here today or tomorrow, but, other than a bad fuse box what would be the cause of having no 12v source at these two fuses and would a bad pressure control solenoid cause the shift solenoids to stop working??? I had a DHP PCM in it and thought that maybe it wasn't working correctly, so I put the original back in and it does the exact same thing...

ANY help would be greatly appreciated and a HUGE thanks to Trannyman for previous help on this...

Update...

Replaced the fuse box, it was definitely bad, that fixed the fuse problem...

After all that, it was still throwing the codes and shifting hard. So, I ordered all new solenoids for the tranny.

If anyone needs new solenoids I would HIGHLY recommend electricaladvantage on Ebay. They cost me $109 with free shipping. The EPC and TCC are Borg Warner and the Shift Solenoids are ACDelco.

I replaced the noids today and put everything back together and everything is good to go.

Hopefully this helps anyone that has any problems remotely like this...
