Need suggestions for brake pads please.

I did my research in various GXP forums, and settled on ACDelco pads that run about $45 a pair. Here is an example of some at this link http://www.brakepadwholesale.com/sea...rce=GOOGLEBASE. I now want to replace both front and rear, and was wondering if I should just buy the same kind, or is there a cheaper alternative that is nearly as good? $100 for new brakes just seems like a lot.

You get what you pay for.

I wouldn't cheap out on brakes.

Centric, Hawk, or EBC...only way I'd do it.

good pads start at 50, and go up from there. stay away from the 25 $ pads.

also check your rotors out, if they have groves worn into them have them cut or replace them. it makes a big difference.

Thanks for the replies. Also, I did get some good Raybestos cross drilled rotors for a great price online, and had those installed about a year ago. I don't want crappy brakes, because they could possibly save my life! I just wondered if I really had to pay $50 a pair or if there were $25 pads that were just as good.

They might be acceptable, however expect more brake fade and poor brake feel.

Thanks for all the replies! Yeah, I'll stick with the good ACDelco ones I got before. I read about them in a thread from here or another board, and people spoke very highly of them. They stop great, no noise, and very little brake dust.

Are they OE service?

Because AC delco also sells "professional grade" and "advantage"

Pro being premium aftermarket, advantage being economy aftermarket, OE service being the only OE parts.

I looked them up and found them on Amazon. They are listed as "ACDelco Professional DuraStop." Link HERE.

Just been a while since anyone bumped this thread. I dont know many who go 1.5 months without brake pads.

Have to agree with your pad recommendation though.

Didn't even realize with I saw 8/3 we were in September, this year has been flying by. Yes agreed, if you need pads then waiting much more than a week is a gamble.
