Going to be going with a ST4 cam instead of the intense stage 4. Also added an electric water pump and some other things to the list.
Working on getting the engine first. Waiting to hear back from him to see if we can work out a better price.Should hear something by Monday.

The Stage 4 Turbocharged Cam is the most agressive grind available with a strong powerband between 3,500 and 7,200 RPM
INTENSE™ Stage 4 Turbo Cam, duration @ .050": 226º/218º, lobe lifts: .343"/.346", valve lifts with 1.60:1 rocker arms: .549"/.553", lobe separation angle: 116º, intake centerline: 110º (+$50.00)
Stattama Turbo #4 camshaft for 3800 series 2 motors.
The ST4 cam is designed to make power up to 6800 RPM. This cam is designed for drag-race applications yet still retains streetability. Idle is fairly rough. 3250 or higher stall torque converter recommended. 105 or 130 lb. valve springs are recommended.
This camshaft is manufactured by Comp Cams to our specifications.
Duration @ .050" is 224/218. Lift is .536/.528 with 1.6 rockers. Lobe separation is 116 degrees.
Well i didnt need the powerband to end at 7200 since i am not going to be shifting at that rpm. Plus that would also call for a little higher stall than 3000. Maybe around 3500. Wich may be a little too much for the dd.
And I picked the stattama cam because to me it would seem that it may be a better matched cam for the kit that i'm buying.
And the last reason is that I was really not sure which one to choose.
If you have a suggestion I'd love to hear it. The bottom line though is I even though it will be driven on the street I don't care how big the stall or how lumpy the cam is at idle. As long as it has a good power range that i can use.
I know you have the is4 so what's you're opinion on it? Happen to have an idle clip? what rpm does it really start and stop pulling at?

^^^ no. they both require custom tning by a shop that knows that cam. Brian will be getting my car for dyno, because he tuned Scott/Bob Cook's cars.
as I am sure you would want to get yours tuned by Stattama/ZZP because they made the cam....

The intense cam was designed for very large turbos like a T4 t-70+ and ported heads. Even Scott C would not suggest this cam for you build.
The stattama cam does not require ported heads and works well with smaller turbos like the build you are planning. Duckcalls car is a great example
600+WHP with stock L36 heads(gasket matched),ST4 cam and a T4 t-67.
either cam will require 130# springs and double roller at that power level.
I would not say they are the same cam. Each cam has its place depending on the entire build.
The ST3 cam is a solid choice as well for your build and will make slightly more torque.

Why did you pick the cam you did? Like I said when it comes down to it I really don't care about streetability. I want a bad ass street build.

i missed this thread for a good while it looks like..but i have a couple suggestion for you...
i know everyone preaches about the MLS gaskets and how they are the best, but you more than likely dont need them. a few people have had problems with them sealing inbetween the layers and leaking coolant/oil. also, with head studs jonbob's whipple car running near 600 whp is on felpros. my opinion, unless youre using them to up/down your compression it is a waste of money to buy these and risk issues with them.
another thing that you may want to keep a lead into is e85. that will help you make the power you want at a cheaper price since youll already have 65# injectors. why not use what you got, right? you wont need anything else but those, rewire, and a boost-a-pump maybe.
get a jp. no one has broken one yet, unlike the rollmaster. most people mill the oil pump cover down .020", but to do it right you need to line up the gears with the stock one and make sure the chamfer on it is the same so that it seats correctly on the shaft of the crank. i have been running a jp with a milled pump cover for over 15k miles and i havent had any problems yet. yeah, double roller on a rocker car. once i was down there i didnt want to ever open it up again so i ditched the tensioner and kept the double roller. cam only ran for 3 days before it went down with a spun bearing, then i went rockered right away.
other than that...i have no other concerns with your planned setup.

I appreciate you're advice. I was actually hoping that someone would chime in about that. I have heard of issues and was just looking at the price difference in them and didn't think it was worth it. This was just yesterday. I know someone else mentioned the felpro's in the thread also.
So i will be using felpro's now.
And yes the e85 is definetly an option now. Like i said they only have like one station around here but this may not be my dd for long so it wouldn't matter. When the time comes i will probably be getting in touch with ya to make sure i have everything i need for it.
What about a FPR? I'm guessing i'll need an aftermarket one. Was thinking about the aeromotive efi one. What pressure should i be running with the new setup?

I'd talk to Farns here or Janice on clubgp about the double roller issue and a solution to chamfer the sprocket. Putting on another gasket for clearance issues is not fixing the problem, the double rollers were designed for Aussie cars and the chamfer on the sprocket is different, not fixing the problem causes the chain to be unaligned and ultimately acts as a single chain. Farns should be able to give you info as to what he did.
The 65# injectors on your setup on E85 would be close to maxing them, a BAP for your fuel system would definitely be needed, from what i have seen.

I already have the prj rails becuase i have the stage 2 intercooler.
Go to Welcome to PRJ.Performance And go to the comming soon section. Second pic down right under the aluminum valve covers the is a pic of a whipple setup. Looks like he is using a magnaflow fpr along with prj rails.

He may already have some? Kalo's impala was able to push 600hp on stock rails, I was surprised, but their fuel system was unique too...
If your getting/making the stattama intake, aftermarket fuel rails might be something worthwhile
