Hey guys ever since i changed my harmonic balancer my cars been acting funny but ive got the code for mass air flow low circuit before
now what my car is doing is, it will start up fine and run fine for like 5-10minutes then after that it will chug and die on me
now it also will have tack jumps like when im letting it idle u can hear and see the tacks jumping and going back down.
Ive heard it is the maf sensor but i changed it with another and its still not good i also cleaned both and tryed both but the problem still occurs.
Any advice thanks

I would say the wiring for the maf, being above the exhaust may have gotten damaged. Scottydoggs and others have had this happen. Replacing the wiring connector is usually the needed fix.

You changed mafs but have you tried to let it run with no maf?

If it's a wiring issue, keeping it unplugged will stop any current. Also, when you changed the balancer did you look at the crank position sensor?

My tach was going nutty and then I found little pieces of debris stuck in the grooves on the crank position sensor. Blew it out with air and voila!

yes actually bought a brand new cps for it and tryed to run it without the maf on but not for long so i will try this
and get back to you guys

Hey i ran it and it ran ok without the maf but its still being weird
so the connector is the probable cause. one more tad bit of info is when it dies i can start it right back up.
was driveing it two weeks ago got done 10 miles then comeing back like a half mile from my house it chugs then dies. i managed to limp it home by unplugging the maf then i limped it at approx 20mph but given gas it died right away.
this really has me scratching my head

hey i changed the connector and im still haveing the problem
after a few minutes of running it around it sputters and almost dies i have to baby it home
any suggestions?

MAF could be bad since it runs better unplugged, but the fact it still chugs and dies is still concerning. Check the codes again and see if anything else pops up.

i changed the tps yesterday and still no help.
what could contribute to this problem, and ive been getting 0 codes since i changed the tps but it is still giveing me hell.
my main concern is when im going to press the gas above average it chugs and stutters and will stall but it starts right back up and ive recently replaced the harmonic balancer and the cps. it currently sits at my house. do you guys want to see a video? after school today i could film the problems
