• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Well the wifes grand prix finally decided to act up. 2006 3.8 natural w/ 102,000 miles Already replaced plugs, trans fluid, battery.

It all started when we went to get the trans flushed. They let the car die from leaving the key on. Got the car back and it wouldnt stay started and kept getting an electrical error code. Figured out to replace the battery and the car hasn't acted right since.

1. Transmission is knocking and slipping. I pulled a secondary code I think it was P1101 or 1011( i cant find where I put it)

2. Got 2 new key fobs and went to dealer to have them programmed and they said they wouldnt program. Anyone have any ideas on this.

3. Now the engine seems to idle around 600 rpm I remember it being higher.

4. The engine seems to be vibrating a lot more. It's riding pretty rough.

I havent had a lick of problems with this car until firestone let the battery go dead and they jumped it off. Could they have screwed up the computer or something. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated because I am lost at this point.

unrelated to the running problem, but had the trans ever been service before having the flush done? if not the trans could be dying from the flush.

flushing a neglected trans, (meaning never serviced) is a death sentence 99% of the time for the trans. being you got a trans code after the flush, well theres some proof.

OK i will look at that thanks. Anyone know why the key fob wont program.

Scottie - no it was never done before. So I prob screwed it huh.

find the code, post it/ look it up, see what it is.

a bottle of lucas trans medic may save you. maybe.

next time this comes up for any other car you have. only drop the pan, and change the filter, this changes 1/2 the fluid, not all of it.

trans service should be done every 50 to 60,000 miles. if you live where you have lots of hills every 30,000 miles would be better.

Lucas I did and it may have saved me. Hasn't slipped since. Also need to know what part receives the signal from the keyless entry. They cant get mine programmed. I think I need to replace the alarm. Does anyone know where or what I need to do. Thanks.
