need some help with 06 gp gxp with monsoon system

i have and o6 gp gxp with the monsoon system and nav change the door speaker to kenwoods and the rear deck speakers to polk audio 690s
and know it sound even worst i have since add a 13in rockford sub with amp to mask the horrable sound coming from the other speakers.
what would i need to do to get better sound ? a local high in radio shop told me that i need to get a new hu or add a sound processor.
my question is what make a monsoon system the hu or the stock amp? what signals or coming from the hu to the amp. could i just bypass the monsoon amp
all together and wire the hu to a 4 channel amp or something? i what all speakers working right doors center and rear deck. please can i get some help [email protected]

so you are telling me that all i have to do replace the amp and run new speaker wires and i still will be able to use the stock hu with no problem and still have function of on star.
 
Yes and don't forget the line out converter to convert high level speaker inputs to low level, or an amp with high level speaker inputs and then wire from speaker inputs going into Monsoon amp,going to have to do a little research but I think it will be better in the long run, you always replace you HU with aftermarket too and just get the proper harness or harness' to maintain Onstar and steering wheel controls
