Need Rollmaster Single Roller Timing Chain Reviews

Rolling Thunder

I'm looking for reviews of the Rollmaster single roller timing chain or for advice on my timing set.

I'm wondering who is having good luck or bad luck with these timing sets.

It's only about $30 more for me to get the Rollmaster single roller timing set than the Cloyes non-roller with my discount, so price doesn't really matter.

I also understand that the tensioner/dampener needs to be changed often. I was wondering if there were any upgrades for this.

I'm not upgrading springs or rockers. I simply want a more reliable system that will last longer.

This is going in a Fiero... there's not much room in front of the engine, so I'm trying to avoid maintenance if possible. However, I want to do what is most mechanically sound and problem free.

the stock chain and dampener is good to about 150k easy, at that point the damper would get worn pretty good. btw, its a fiero, just drop the cradle lol

I wouldn't worry about it, I am going with it and there is more positives than negatives. I am going double roller.

if you make sure the crank gear and everything are good and the set sits right then who cares? no one ever said it was a completely plug and play part. the problem is that some were machined with slightly different tolerances and the crank gear MIGHT sit out a little too far running the chain at an angle and wearing it prematurely. i did none of this and am running with a machined oil pump cover and so far so good.
