Need Paint Advice

I built myself a SLP hood basically by using my stock hood and fiberglassing the slp scoops on the bottom of the hood. I also ran the ductwork to my air intake box so it can dump the air in their.

I'm thinking of having the paint done Using PPG Deltron DBC with PPG clear Concept 2010 which I've heard is excellent. If anyone else has a better paint option, let me kwow?

Also if anyone knows of a great automotive paint shop around Chicago-Dekalb area, let me know. I would like to get my hood pained along with my new grand prix OEM bumper and I would like to get it all painted for around $600 and thats on my high side. Is that to low of a price, or is that reasonable. The hood may will need a little body work on the top.

Car is 97GTP
Paint Code U-8555

PPG is good stuff they're just as good as the other big names in the game of paint. $600 for your hood on both sides and your bumper is going to be close. I would expect a body shop to charge between $500 and $700 for those two. Any less or more I would be walking away from that establishment.

I see in your sig its says you auto refinish. Is that what you do for a living?

No I am currently working for GM and being a student full time...With that said I am in the process of transfering to that department in GM or finding a paint postition some where else.

PPG is very good paint..

I see the paint code is Black so you may get away with just painting the parts.

Its gone to be close to 600 but I dont know how many hours they will need to finish the hood for you..
