Need OBD2 MAF hz formula

i searched and searched but couldnt find the formula for the PID for the mass air flow frequency to input into my torque app in my droid. i saw dark horizon posted a formula in the threads a while back but the way he written it out didnt make sense especially the "<<" symbol and whats with the extra paranthesis?:th_scratchhead: see below:

((N1 << 8) + N2) / 2.048

i put this in the custom PID entry in the app and still nothing works to display the MAF:
(N1< 8) + N2)) / 2.048
 
I want to scan the maf hz pid when I'm scanning and tuning. Don't want to carry around my laptop when logging data as i can use the app
 
if you have a tuner use the damn laptop, why the fvck would you want your live data scan from the t app? thats just not safe in my book. or logical either.
 


makes no sense to me at all. so your gonna trust some mathematical equation you cant even trust? theres a reason no one knows this answer.
 
the mathetical equation would be equivalent to calculating gear ratio, tire diameter, injector flow rate, MAF by g/s etc. its been figured out and floating around. i just cant seem to find the formula posted for that particular PID. honestly im here looking for the formula, not whether if its a good idea to use it or not use it. this isnt a thread on debating and arguing whether its useful to use on anything other than a laptop. i appreciate the info and suggestion but im still going forward.
 
i was merely pointing out no one does this. so the answer is not gonna happen anytime fast. because its not practical in the end.


and DH and his 1/2 a answers are not not gonna help either. hes been banned.......
