Need new subs

i ment to say that i have 2 550w amps....each one bridged to a single speaker... 12's are awesome for GP, just make sure u have a nicely sized boxed to get the job done!

check youtube. sound quality is poor cause of the low DB on the cameras but i look at whats around and imagine how hard they hit....

my dad just put one of those Alphine R-series subs in his GTP and hooked it to an older Pioneer amp, that suckers hits...the 12" really hits hard, and for 109 bucks brand new off ebay, he's defently getting more than his money is worth!

maybe true badazgtp but i'd never want to push my subs to the max...my RMS on my kicker subs are 750 each. I have one 550w kicker amp bridged to EACH SUB! so i'm gettin lots of overall power...I recommend KICKERS, the square L7's hit...my personal opnion, the JL W7's hit somewhat harder than L7s but look at price differnce, guess it depends on what you like

I hate mephis, i'd never buy mephis product...

ive almost always had memphis products.......had a prob with my 500d it blew a resistor and had a brand new amp from memphis 2 weeks later.theyre cheaper subs suck...as far as amps they underate all their stuff.all of their D class amps are pretty much bulletproof

Those kickers and type r's do get loud, but they don't sound nice..thats what I thought when I heard them. There definitely an spl sub.

Yea, I don't have the amp cranked all the way up. When you do that you actually start losing some wattage and causes your amp to get hot. I'm probably about half or just a little over.

It seems that is the spot for in a gp trunk. I don't know why, but that's where I get the best sound. Placed the box all over the trunk and this was the best.

Memphis higher end is amazing! i have had a few different setups from memphis:

1st) i had two 12" memphis power reference with a 500w power reference amp and it sounds pretty good for the price you pay!

2nd) i then up graded to two 12" Memphis M1's and kept the same amp. SQ got a little bit better so i decided i would go all out!

3rd) i then got two 12" Memphis MOJO in a 2pc. 5cu.ft. box being pushed by a Memphis 4kw with two Kinetik 2400s. with this setup in my grand prix i hit a 151.9

4th and final) i am now running with one 15" Memphis M3 with a Memphis power reference 1000. with this setup in the trunk i hit a 148.2

Memphis as amazing products but there higher end is a little pricey...but still cheaper then the W7s

im actually looking at selling my set up (15, box, amp) pm if youd like

^5 im with ya 100% i loveeeeeeeeeeee memphis :th_thumbsup-wink:

151.9 in a trunk is very hard to do. What mic was it measured on? Term lab or Linear X? Either way its very impressive. I know Team Stereo One (Before they got banned) used Mojos for numerous world records. And man can those things take some juice. They had a quad 1ohm 15 with 2500D amps to each coil and it would hold. Bad thing is the Mojos get sloppy the louder they get. But a 150db daily driver is awesome IMO.

I just got 2 12" memphis power reference powered by a jbl 600.1 and it pulls 138 db on the dash, but I would suggest 2 jbl GTI 12's powered with a crown amp, this setup in my buddies 85 monte ss, was enough to make my nose bleed.

Those things are gonna be huge, when I sold my old one I sold the 2 12" W7's and let me tell you, those things hit harder than anything I've ever heard in person lol.

just check out youtube and go to a few companies website and just choose a favorite, most name brands is gonna hit hard anyways, just depends what you want...best sounding systems i ever heard was all diff. types... (ex: memphis amp on 2 JL's)

my guy didnt have the rockford in hand as promised, he had a percision power amp 600 insted...i'm trying a bunch of differnt amps...was only $60 so what the hell...anyways since it was an older model i didnt know u didnt really have to bridge it, started smoking from the power end...LUCKLY after twisting around the wires it played...lol...almost fried it...but i wouldnt suggest, lol my subs just aint getting the power they desirve, i'mma try his hi-fonic's tomrrow its a 1200w and see the differnce....lol should be alot..
