• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

need info and input on doing a swap on a series 3 05 grand prix to a supercharged

You would have to run a Custom Tune for the Top Swap. You can use stock GT Transmission settings though if you're only doing a top swap.

I hate to disagree, but a topswap is much easier than an entire motor swap, and as zero reliability issues. Me and frosty95 are both running awesome topswap setups on stock trans.

I don't doubt reliability on a topswap at all. I've done both, and I honestly found it easier and faster to swap a whole motor in, than to have to strip it down to the short block, and rebuild it up, all in the car. (which I just did for my GEN V swap/cam build)

Just depends how experienced you are and how much access you have to the proper tools.

Yeah thats a good point. To each his own haha. I just didn't have a cherry picker or anything, and was able to swap heads and all with pretty much a basic socket set and a breaker bar.
Another good option would be an SSM90 setup, if he can find the modified rails and lower for sale, then he wouldn't need much at all.

Can verify. Also dont bother swapping the wiring harness. The only differnece is the boost bypass valve solonoid wiring.... I haven't had the solonoid EVER and I have no issues. My BBV still works fine.

A GTP wiring harness also has 2 Pressure sensors, a 2 bar MAP and a baro sensor. Moving to a GTP harness / base cal requires the use of a GTP ABS module though.

You may be correct but I'm saying that I don't have either of those and I'm running a gtp bin on my gt harness and have no issues.

What year car? The TCS system is completely different on an 04+ car.

-Rob

Who wants the TCS on? Lol turn that **** off lol

And ive been running a stock wire harness as well, you just have to get the Baro and MAP sensors and hook up the MAP to the lim and let the Baro see fresh air

For me, it's the fact that if I'm swapping engines in a car, it damn well better be done right, and function like it left the Factory. Nothing annoys me more then a "Hillbilly hackjob" of a swap with a dash that lights up like a Christmas tree when you turn the key.

Besides, TCS can be helpful over a Michigan winter.

What mods you running? Cause my **** was squirlly as hell before i turned it off.. and just unplug the light lol.. it was almost to the point of being dangerous when i pulled out in traffic

Frosty tuned my TCS and it actually works incredibly well for me, and mine is not hacked together at all, everything works as is factory, and its really not a whole engine, just heads and SC.

TC hasn't worked for me in idk how many years yea I could fix it easily but I prefer to do without it. To each it's own I guess.

Currently my car is "Stock". It stated life as an 04 GT, but it's currently setup as a GTP with a CompG trans.

I can see the GT ABS system doing bad things with a top swapped car, but the GTP system is a lot more refined. The fact that it can dump boost where the GT system can't is a big factor.

It can if you can tune it right. Mine bonneville, which is just a lowly SLE has no problems reigning in the supercharged engine.

Apples to Oranges comparison, the 04+ cars are completely different, and use the Throttle-By-Wire system extensively for Traction Control.
