The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Ok will try that as soon as I get off work. Could I have tuned the valves wrong? I put a screwdriver in each spark plug hole and torqued the rockers at tdc. And went in firing order.
closed lopp is what the engine does when its cold out at a first start up. thats the engine running off the pcm. (not the sensors) it will do the same thing if you unplug the maf. runs off the mafs back up settings. aka closed loop.
Ahh ok. Ill try that in a sec. also I was double checking my fuses and relays and even with the key in the on position im not getting any power to the main ignition relay. Could that be the alarm?
I know I have everything hooked were it goes but wasnt thinking about damaged wires. Ok thats on my list.. the only thing I did see is that oriely auto parts says the connector to the alternator has 4 wires and mine only has 2
Update. So yesterday I took the starter off and cleaned it and lubed it. Re installed it and still wouldn't start. Working long hours and then trying to pinpoint why the car wont start and was googling symptoms and fell asleep in the driver seat. Woke up and turned the key and it starts.sounded rough but started non the less. Died after two minutes and wont start again..smdh.. what could it be?,
Also there is a female connector bunched in with the negative battery cables that I dont remember disconnecting anything from it but maybe I did.. what could it be? Has 2 wires and no sign of anything that it could connect to..
Update. Did a double check of fuses and was missing the I/p-ing 10 amp fuse.not sure where it dissapeared to. Put a 15 amp (only spare I had) in. Then gapped the plugs..it started up. Lots of smoke out the exhaust so shut it down. Now wont start again. Pulled 2 codes. P0305. Misfire in #5. And p1676. what do I do now,?
http://engine-codes.com/p1676_buick.html thats a evap code, it kinda means in this case, you forgot to plug it back in. it has nothing to do with the car not cranking.
if you played with the starter, then it fired up, then didnt, hit the starter with a hammer while someone holds the key to start, if the starter is bad it should crank and fire up.
if that dont work test for power when the key is to crank at the little wire on the starter. it should have power when the key is turned only.
you had the whole engine a part, its gonna smoke as crap burns off, next time it starts let it run at idle till it stops smoking. let it warm up, keep a eye on the the temp.
Ok. Will do that. Keeping and eye on the temp would be pointless at this point. The thermostat is not in because was flushing the coolant system when I got it running. And you know how hard that Tstat is to get out and back in.lol
What could be causing the misfire on #5? A few time I have taken the wires off and the coupling stayed on one of the plugs. Not sure if it was that one though
