My aunt has a 2004 grand prix with 3800, and it only happens when its cold out she will try to start the car and will fire and then right away it will shut off. it will finally start and drive fine. no check engine light doesn't run rough never happened in the summer just last winter..
 


I know what TB throttle body means, what does FPR mean it doesn't do it everytime but it will shut right off as soon as it fires and it will do it sometimes for ten min straight
 
fuel pressure regulator. its on the fuel rail. when bad n/a cars tend to start, then stall out, then start just fine and run. seems to be a first start of the day type of thing.
 
04+ cars dont have a pressure regulator on the rail IIRC.

Its in the fuel pump assembly. I would just do what scotty said and clean the throttle body and MAF sensor with the correct cleaners.
 


clean the TB, see how it is after that. carbon builds up and clogs the butterfly flap causing it to stick. its behind that flap where its dirty.
 
Talked to a friend about your problem. He said if it does it when it's cold but starts ok when it's warm, try changing the water temperature sensor. It's on the block right by where the top radiator hose connects. Cost about $16 bucks. This sensor is sending a cold motor signal to the cars computer,and like the old style chokes on carburators it will spray in more gas than you need. He said it is basically flooding itself out. This is why it takes awhile to start after it dies,it has to burn out the excess gas.
 
Ok here's more info she drove it a few miles then let it sit for a while then tryed to start it it took awhile to start when it did she drove it 500 feet shut it off for a few hrs and then it started right up
