need help

I need some help with my grand prix gtp, if i hold my grand prix around 2000rpm it will go up to 2300 and go back down like pulsating but if i get on it a little hard it will smooth out, but when im traveling on the highway it will fell like a slip but only really does it when its wet out??

sounds like a pcs, id take it to a shop and have it scanned to make sure. if the cel is not on yet, the auto zone free scanner probably wont pick it up, thats why i say take it to a trans shop or shop with good scanners.

my car did the same thing, in 3 rd gear, it would chug and the tach would jump anywhere from 200 to 500 rpm, back and forth till you let off or gave it more gas, a month later i lost 3 rd gear, and a month after that i got a used trans put in.

yea i notice it on hills i had misfire on 4 changed plug and it got better but like even with low speed it will do it like when i let off too for the slip feeling

no check engine light?

could really need a tune up if not done lately, clean the throttle body, clean the maf, clean the iat sensor.

what year and mileage you got there?

what year is the car?

the maf you need to remove it and spray it with maf cleaner only, the ait sensor you can clean with the same, the throttle body can be cleaned with carb and choke cleaner, best to remove it to really clean it up, all the gunk is past the butterfly, the inside will be nasty. if you not up to removing it, you can get a old tooth brush, and scrub as far back as you can, then wrap a rag over the tooth brush and wipe it as clean as you can. just hold the butterfly open to get to back side. oh dont mess up the screen at the end of the opening, there is a circle clip that you need to remove, then pop the screen off, when done put the screen back.

heres a link to clean the T body. http://www.grandprixforums.net/how-clean-your-throttle-body-48650.html

Ok now im lost i drove my car to work this past week abot 250 miles i washed it the day befor i left and the next morn it was cold out i was letting it warm up and it was running like crap the SEL came on then when i took off to head to work it went off, but when i got there and let the car idle it came back on and stayed on i scanned it and it was a random misfire and 02 code, it runs great down the highway but when im stopped at a light or idleing it seems like it wants to die, i have 150000 on it and last plugs and wires are at 88000 i thought i should be able to get alittle more than 60000 miles out of plugs and wires anyone have a idea never had a random misfire code, thank you

take them off, they tend to make the plug wires arc and cause a misfire, i recall some one here had misfires and saw at nigh all the sparking going on.

Ok got the plugs and wires changed removed metal covers, started it up misfire on number 3 ran ruff at idle but alot better cruising speed, so i changed coil pack no check engine light but runs a little ruff on idle any ideas i have a exhaust leak between cat and where the resinator was would that make it ruff alittle ruff??

it would make it feel/sound ruff, like you can feel it vibrating under your seat. but not give a misfire. that gasket just ran me 6 or 7 bucks at napa, as i just replaced my res, if you are going to fix that, buy new bolts before hand, as you will need to break them or cut them off, they never come in one piece.
