First Let Me Say I am a Former 2006 Grand Prix GT Owner This Forum is One of the Best out there when you Need Help For Your Vechile But I Which Over To Chevy :( I Have a 2006 Impala SS it’s only got 90,000 Miles on it. Trans Shift Perfect but on the Super Cold Days in Chicago. My Shifter Feel stiff in the Morning when i put it Park to Drive. After 15 mins of Driving It’s Loosen up and It Feels Normal. Can Anybody help ? The Impala Forums Sucks 😂

Hm. That is strange. Are you talking about the actual shift selector? And is the impala shifter on the floor or the dash?

Only thing that comes to my mind is the casing on the shift cable is plastic which would heat up and "loosen" on the cable? Might be because it's old. Idk, that's a strange one

The Shifter is On the Floor. I’m going to take it to a local shop and see what’s could be causing it Thanks For the reply

Another thing this could be. Floor shifters are also cables and routed up through the firewall. Sometimes when an air filter is changed the cable routing gets moved and that can cause some tension on it.

Pop the hood.. post a couple of pictures of the routing.
