when i got the car this piece of trim was missing. i want to go the junkyard and get a new one im just not sure how to get it off of the car. i was thinking that i would have to pry it off with a crow bar or something without messing up the paint of course. how should i go about getting the part off and what tools should i bring with me thanks for any help

It should just be held on with plastic clips id imagine a flathead would do the job just be careful you dont break it... dont quote me on that though

i havent heard the idea of taking the panel off and pushing the clips out. im going to try that. if not im breaking out the crow bar. any screws or bolts holding it on?

when i peeled one off the other day i dont remember seeing any clips i just used a flat head screw driver and pried it off

My '99 did not have clips, only guide pins for correct placement. There is also a channel on the bottom of the door that the trim slides up into to hold it in place. It was held on with double sided foam tape. Free the top of the molding carefully with tool of choice (i used exacto blade and nylon pry tools) and then slide molding down to remove. Worst part was removing all the old foam tape.

Regards

edit: Sorry I think I misunderstood: The channel at bottom of door holding the molding is attached with clips and rivets.
