Need help with Key/Ignition(?) issue... no start

Here it is:
When I go to start the vehicle the key will go into the cylinder but not quite 100%. It goes in as far as it can but it will not go in all the way to where the cylinder will unlock. This seems to be an intermittent issue with this car for several months. It seems to be worse(act up more often) when it is cold inside the car. If I wiggle the key around sometimes within two or three times it "unlocks" and then it is fine. Once it is freed up, it acts as normal. I am just having an issue whenever I go to start the car getting what I guess is the ignition to accept the key. Anywhere I should start to look first? Thanks

Problem solved, I had to replace the ignition switch itself with a new one...had to get new keys for the ignition as I did not want to pay gm out the ass to get the original matching one.
