Anyone else seen this problem before with the alienware m17? it seems like may be the frame of the unit is causing the speakers to short out cause when i pick up the corner of the laptop it goes away. I thought i would ask some of you here before i got on the phone with dell for 3 hours.lol any way here the video.

First off I would like to say beautiful laptop. I own a first gen M15x. Looks like you have the second or third?

Secondly, I would say a wire is definitely loose there. Have you popped the back off yet and seen if you can access the speaker?

I did take the bottom one off but i cant see any wires, it looks like i would have to take the whole bottom frame off to get a the speaker wire's, and to do that i would have to take off the heat sink.

Ok, so if your still on warranty then dont touch it at all. With alienware Dell will send a technician to your home and fix it for you for no charge. If your not on warranty, look up some YouTube videos on how to completely remove the internals and attempt to investigate the wires. Also have you been looking at the different alienware forums? Thry have a lot of very useful info and the members on them will be able to help you a lot better then I can lol.

That would be the smartest way to go. Love my Alienware as well lol. Even though people hate on them, just cause we pay a little extra.
