i have a 99 grand prix and i need to know wheres the best and easist way to run the power wire through the firewall? pictures would be greatly apprecieated because ive been looking and looking and i cant find anywhere to run it that wont interfear with my driving, thank you.

There's a big rectangular grommet in the passenger floorboard. If you pull your carpet back some you'll see it. It will pop into the car if you pull on it. Or just drill a hole through the firewall.

yeah thats a drain plug though and isnt it bad to have the wire exposed and so close to the ground??

I wouldn't ever worry about it. Almost all of us run our main power wire through that hole. Run the power wire inside some plastic tubing that will protect it inside of the engine bay from heat, debris, and water. Then drill a hole and pull wire through so its tight and no water could ever get through. Then your good to go.

Im not sure if its a drain plug... Its a rubber cap that fits in a fairly decent size hole in the firewall on the passenger side of the car, I'm not sure that its low enough to drain water however. Its decent size and I'm not sure you want to keep a hole like that open to the elements. Thats why i suggested just drilling the correct size hole for whatever gauge your running and make sure its tight fitting. No water leaks!

I think chamilton is talking about the wire harness grommet thats on the passenger side firewall, not the floorboard. Its about even with the power steering pump. Thats where I went through as well.
