Need Help window wont roll up or down.

So the switch works the motor works. I can hear it trying to raise and lower the driver side window. It is like it is off the track. I cannot manually pull it up more than a quarter of the way. Pulled door panel and am unsure of where to go from here.

you need a new window regulator. the cable is shot.

ive opened up the door and stuck a cut to size 2x4 under the window to hole it up for security in my truck when it broke on me.

How do I replace the cable? PArt Number? And thanks for the quick reply.

you dont replace the cable, you buy a "window regulator" for said door. its a new motor cable and track. its like a 3 bolt job to change.

I had both my rear windows go out and it costs about $90 a window. 30 to 45 minutes tops to replace.
