• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I cant properly explain my problem so I took a cellphone video to speak for me. The video is sideways so please forgive me.

Background.

2004 Grandprix GTX.

2 weeks ago I started getting a Viarable power steering assist warning which would then disable the system and then shortly after go away.

1 week ago I started get a barrage of warnings accompanied by several systems shutting down. This is a consistant issue that happens every time I start the car up.

Today. As I was braking and turning into a resteruant the braking warning light turned OFF and my tires locked up.

I have been to 1 mechanic who was unable to figure out the problem. He noticed that my Battery was bad however stated that he doubted that was the problem. (battery indicator consistantly shows 14.2 14.8 volts as I am driving)

I dont have the money to take this in. If its a module or something I can pick up in a junk yard I will make the repair myself.

Alright I was able to rule out the battery. $100 later I can be certain the battery was not the cause of my problems. Should have trusted the mechanic.

I noticed while reading the owners manual that most of the indicators I am getting are tied to the braking system. What could possibly be wrong with the braking system that would shut down the ABS, TCS and Variable effort steering systems?

I am now confident the problem is my Traction Control module. The problem is that a new one is $1200 and a used one is still far to expensive for the car.

I found limited info on this problem in the forum. The advice seems to be to check the fuses and wiring to the sensors. I'll start there. I was told by a mechanic (not the dealer) that he could not get codes out of the module because it was not powering up.
