So the other day i get in my car and when i start it i notice my performance shift light is on so i shut it off and take off. Well i finaly notice that when my cars in park nuetral or reverse my performance shift light comes on my my speedo. but when its in any drive gear it does not, well it was like that for a couple weeks and now its not working at all that i know of. i cant really tell because i have to get my car tuned because of mods ive added but even though i cant full throttle the car i still belive its not working. Also which might help my speedo is not working but my HUD is, so could it be the speed sensor by the transaxle? thanks for anyone and everyones help. I know a good amount about cars but im new to the gtp thing so could use all the help i can get.

New to the GTP thing and you've got tons of mods with no tune = recipe for disaster.

If you literally CAN NOT go WOT...then I'd bet vacuum leak.
 
Your HUD and speedo are fed from one wire. So likely your cluster isn't connected well. I'd pull it and check the connector in the back.

On the perf light. Pull the console up and take a look. I'm thinking you had a pinched wire that was grounding itself out in certain positions and now it broke, leading to it not working at all.
 


sorry for no response for couple days been very ill but the car is 98 wit cai,3.4 pulley, colder plugs, thermo, and headers are on the way. i know driving with no tune is a set up for disaster but trust me im not bossting the car at all so i dont harm it. it just dont get me because the light worked fine then quit??? i dont get it and like i said then it went to only working in park reverse and neutral then just quit.
 
is it a big job to pull the console to check the speedo and the perf light? and the car will be tuned just waiting on headers to get here and then tuning it instead of tuning and adding more and tunning again. trying to do it all at once.
 
pulled the console and didnt find any problems......... i was told to check the speed sensor? and also i took the shift knob off but got no where. couldnt get to the switch. running out of ideas to why the perf light just quit.
 


so i dont think im getting any power. i scuffed the wires and put the volt meter to them and i pressed the button on and off and got nothing? what should i do? and thank you for your help and staying with me on this. i lost everyone elses help after the first post. i appricate your time. thanks
 
That switch doesn't get voltage. It passes a ground through it and back to the pcm. Use the Upside down horseshoe setting for ohms and that will tell you if you have a direct connection through the switch or not. :th_thumbsup-wink:
