Please...it's a the rolling couch seat. Regals only came bucketed, the right Bonnies only came with 18 way buckets. Yes..you heard that right. 18 way, plus tilting head rest
 
Speaking of rolling couches, whaddaya think is wrong with this one? Other than it's a barge? Miles sound good and price is definitely good. Close enough I should be able to check it out next week, but wonder what causes it to cut off?

Same as Bonne basically. Less stylish, more Granny. Plenty of comfort, w/o all the features.
 
I like Pontiacs better, but this car needs to be reliable and fairly reasonable to operate. So it may come down to something like that. I did find a 98 supercharged Regal GS for $2k that needs a LOT of work.

I think I'll have a look at the Buick. Is Crankshaft sensor hard to install?

What can I say - I work slowly and try to make sure I only have to do it once.... lol I found write up and looks tricky at the outset - looks like some hard things to get loose? And all in all w/o the belt thing and looking thru my uncle's tools for right tools, you were about right on the 1 hour.

The guy just called me abt the car - said it was fine till about 2 months ago when it quit on him, put it in Park and it started up again. And when it runs, runs great he says. I'm gonna ride up and look on way home this afternoon. 850 obo, may be okay. Sensor is $45 ish and another couple hundred in the swear jar... is there any check to confirm the sensor? Owner says he's gonna come put fuel treatment in this weekend see if that helps. I'll get back to you on it Monday prolly. I go analog on weekends most of the time and don;t check email and net. But if I see something, I may check back in.

There's no code, no indicators... nothing from a crank sensor. Before you go pay $45.. look up the Get the best disciounts at Advance Auto thread and get on the second thread for the link to the best codes. Full price isn't for you or me.

That's why I suggest shotgunning. AS for the hour.. I knew that is what it would be... the belt tool is a 15mm on a ratchet..lol

As for this one.. it's pretty easy once you jack the car up.
 
Yeah we had ratchet and all the metric tools he owned. In the bottom of a toolbox. But I had to dig thru everything to find specifics. As for the crankshaft sensor, I *think* there is a puller here at work or may have to rent one. there are at least parts of a puller here at work and that is where it looks like the only hangup might be for me. I have an impact gun and metric sockets, if mine go up to 24. Everything else looks easy enough. I had to look up case learn - I don;t guess I have the ability if I have to ask... lol I wish I had my big red jack down here... the lil red jack take the fun out of everything.

Need another enthusiast in this area to share the fun with... I help them, they help me. We do that with the motorcycles often enough.

Where are you located?

The hangup is going to be the three bolts. M6 x 1.00 x at least 75mm Puller is cake. You can use 1/4" fine pitch thread if you need to. M6 x 1.00 is the proper tool though.
 
Oh I need to put that on my profile. 2 Places, actually. I work in Eastern part of NC, btw Goldsboro/Greenville/Kinston/Wilson. And my family is at the foot of the mountain in NW NC, Mt Airy. 3.5 hrs apart - that's why I need a reasonable car. And my wife reminds me that I don't fit small cars. So the bonnie, GP, etc are good sized.

Is it hard to find those bolts? We have a surprisingly well-stocked ACE store here that has a LOT of metric bolts.

So you may as well look for the bolts anyhow. I talk about the bolts because they were tough to source in my area. Thing was..the length.

On the cloth, velour and Buicks.. this is why you need SSEi, Regal, PA Ultra, these babies came leather only, heated seats etc etc etc. (Well 00+ Bonnies)
