Need help getting my 3rd barke light to blink??

I have a stock 08 grand prix, Im trying to get my 3rd brake light on spoiler to blink when brakes are pressed. Today I went and bought a flasher, I have 2 wires coming off light, white and black, I cut the white wire and ran the 2 wires (each side) to the 2 prong flasher, but the light just stays on, wont blink..So I tried the black wire, ran each side of black wire to flasher, and reconnected white wire, lights turns on, but no blinking..What can I do to get this thing to blink??

I've seen this done on several mustangs but never a GP... Post pics or a vid when you get it done. :th_thumbsup-wink:
 
what kind of flasher did you use? did you use one that will match up with the brake light and have the correct load on it to actually flash?
 


flashing 3rd brake light? what purpose does that serve? I'm not being sarcastic, this is a serious question.

Is this legal in all states? I personally think it would be more of a distraction to me if I saw it on the road.

The point of this mod is to alert drivers behind you that you're braking.

Well guess what, you're supposed to check behind you when you brake. Its also recommended that you brake early to controll the traffic behind you and also let them know you're slowing down.

C5 convertibles have no power compared to any of the other models availible and are convertible, which in a muscle car, is only a little gay.

I have every right to post my opinion as you do so quit ignoring everything I say and calling me an idiot.
 


lol. need to chill. matt is right, zr1 and nault31 make a good point, but you have to remember, you can take all the steps to be a safe driver, and still some douchebags behind aren't paying attention, this is just another thing to help. my OPINION on it tho is that it is annoying as hell, and everytime i see it on a car i get irritated and it makes me think the driver is just some IDIOT, but then again, I think just about every driver is an idiot.
