Well I looked under the car this morning and I noticed trans fluid leaking on the pass side where the cv shaft goes into the trans. I am just hopeing that it is the output seal, can anyone back up my guess? I replaced the shaft about a week ago and never noticed it untill today. Also how hard is it to replace the seal? Thanks

The first thing you should do is jack the car up and clean off the area with parts cleaner/brake cleaner to get it dry so you can verify the exact location of the fluid. The diff housing is just behind the passanger axle so make sure you get that clean also. The seals are not too common to be bad unless the axle hurt the seal when it was installed. There is a spring on the back side of the seal and if it is popped off when installing the axle then there is no tension on the rubber part of the seal to hold it against the axle and it will leak. If you get it cleaned up good and have a camera to take pics and post up that would help also if you are unsure but make sure you see some visable wetness before taking the pics. Also I did have a customer one time have a radiator go bad-the transmission cooler is inside the radiator-and because of this trans fluid pumped into the radiator and it filled up the overflow tank and started leaking pretty bad out of the fill cap on the overflow tank and made it appear like the passanger side axle was leaking so check that out also.

I am sure that it is leaking out the seal around the cv shaft but my ABS light and Trac Off lights is on now and someone said that advance auto could have given me the wrong axle with diffrent spline count and that would cause the light would that also cause the leak.

If the spline count was different, it wouldn't have gone in.

Also the ABS light and Trac Off light are unrelated.

You probably do have a bad axle seal. Most people replace them when doing the axle, as it's the best time and good preventative maintenance.

ABS/Trac off lights are usually caused by a bad wheel speed sensor, dirty connection, or bad wires in the harness.

Well here is somthing I just thought of when I pulled the ould one out it used a 36mm socket and when I put the new one in it took a 1 5/16 do you think that will make a diffrence?

Would that seal where the CV goes in the trans would that be a drive shaft seal or a Auto Trans. Output Shaft Seal
