So I just bought an 04 gtp and I'm driving home from auto parts store, I decided to turn the head lights on, at almost that exact moment, car completely dies and now won't do anything. Feels Like a dead battery, but there was no warning like dimming lights. I'm thinking maybe a short somewhere. So random that it died when I turned on the headlights.

Any ideas, please and thanks

hows a multi switch gonna not let it have power?

is the car not cranking? do the dash lights light up when the key is turned to run? hear a click when you turn the key to start?

more info please.

Absolutely nothing, no lights, no sounds, the gauges are also stuck where they were at web car was running. Battery is good. Just tried jumping it and still no lights or sounds with cables hooked up

thats truly dead. and very odd.

make sure the battery cables are all connected well. on the starter, and the driver side bell housing is the ground cable. as well as the battery.

that 04 up neg cable to battery keeps coming to mind, as its a pos. some dumb clamp set up iirc.

update, when the car got put on the tow truck, the hazard lights came on and stayed on through out the 15 min drive. Then, when the truck dropped my car off at my house, I can't get the lights to come back on. I cleaned the cable from the battery to the support bar near the fuze box, and i checked the grounds on the front of the motor. Still nothing. I get sparks and i hear electrical things clicking when i disconnect, then reconnect a ground, but no sign of life afterwords. Any other ideas or more grounds.

update!! So the ground wire on pass side, from neg terminal to brace seems to be the culprit. Originally the ground was on top of the brace, i then moved it underneath and the all power was restored. Now my only issue is the DIC says inspect theft system or something like that. Thoughts?

drive it and see if it goes away. if it dont after a day or so un hook the neg cable for 30 minutes or more, this should reset the cars systems. and hopefully clear its self.

if your having a misfire in cylinder 3 or 4 it most likely is a chipped piston

Why would that be the most likely problem?

There are SO MANY other things that could cause it. A bad plug, bad wire, a bad coil, a bad ICM, faulty injector, massive vacuum leak. Chipped piston is normally the last thing I think of on random misfires.
