Need different wheels

Here is the deal, I just bought a 00 gt three months ago. It is a white 2-door with white painted rims (They are the large 5-spoke alloy type.) I do not like the way the wheels look at all. But due to the fact that I am in college, buying a new set of aftermarkets is out of the question. So what can I do to these wheels? Would I be able to strip them and polish and clear coat them? or repaint them a different color (black)? I just don't know what would look good, all I know is that white on white don't look good in my eyes. I work in a shop so dismounting the wheels is no big deal, and my father in law does body work, so he could help with the actual paint/clear coat part of the job.

Don't see the white painted rims all too often. Leave it be & save up for rims. Or, see if you can trade.

leave the white. black stock wheels make me throw up and polishing the rare white wheels is a sin (it would also take you a year and a half to finish doing).

Im gonna have to agree with sheep dog... I cant imagine a black car with white wheels looking anywhere near good.

i agree a million times. black on black is so old now. black wheels on OTHER colors still looks good.

white rims on a black gp... could look nice if they are BIG as in 18 and up. Otherwise guys, its a big fail.

Call me a lame-o or whatever but I still think chrome/polished looks the best on black... then black with polished lip.

Almost bought a white GP with the white rims, it looked good. Rare does'nt mean "desirable" all the time.

Yeah ok it doesnt look bad haha, I think it just depends on the car. Some just dont work that I've seen online. I wonder what goes through some peoples heads....
