okay i have been doing alot of research on cams and to be honest i am more confused now than before i started. i just dont know what route to take . my car is not a daliy driver but i may need it to be some day. which way would you guys go. i want something that packs a punch but still able to be driven often. i would love to see 12s someday and if i am going to spend the money and time to do this,i want this cam to be able to get me there!!(with supporting mods of course)

I'm in the S1X gangbang club. However I'll mention that an XP is pretty equal to the S1X. So if one's a better price..yeah, I'm cheap.

thanks guys i think you have made my decision. what are some of the things i need for the install that you would recommend. i am going to do springs lifters push rods retainers. is there anything i need to look out for??

I would recommend getting your guides machined down .100 for valve stem clearance. If you don't, you may come across your valve stem seals leaking oil. Also will need springs for sure. If you wanna see 12s I would highly recommend rods and lifters too.

If you choose that route I'd recommend the xp cam. Slightly more lift than the s1x, cost less(325 vs 350) and requires the same supporting mods. Plus with the xp cam you have the option of getting 105 springs and modded retainers as a bundle for a discounted price.

I just got done researching into it myself and that's what I came up with.

The whole basis of the XP and S1X is to not need to remove the heads or have machine work done.

The right valve seals/retainers is the biggest part or ensuring the correct height is used.

WOTFTW.. if you suggest milling guides, you may want to include spring seats. With modded/LS retainers, height is still not a correct 1.800"
