i have a 01 GTP that I'd like to start modding a little. the thing is two weeks after i bought it the engine blew, the lower intake gasket or whatever. so they put a engine out of a Regal (3800 sc) that had 10,000 more miles on it. so im wondering if this could happen again, ( the clock has 91000 on it so that engine has 100000 on it). so should i leave it as is or can i start thinking about modding?
 


Lim gaskets lock up the motor but doesn't normally kill the block. Just dry out the motor by pulling the plugs and bump the starter to get coolant out of the cylinders. Do a couple of oil changes and replace the gaskets.

Your 10k motor has the same crappy gaskets, I recommend changing them with the aluminum ones when you start modding.
