• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I know this has been done in GTP's and has worked without being a Monsoon vehicle. I was thinking maybe try this in my 2004 GT1 base model.... Guess what? I picked up a 2006 Nav unit real cheap, installed, took to dealer and he unlocked it in 15 minutes. Just need an amp and upgrade stock speakers. Does anyone know the power on the stock speakers? Or should I upgrade them prior to adding an amp? Amp is 400 watts, not looking to go higher right now.

By the way, I've been a reader here for a year and decided to join.

Welcome to the site! :) Im not sure on the ohm and watts the stock ones are but you more than likely will blow out your stock speakers.

I know stock non Monsoon is 4 ohm and Monsoon runs 2 ohm. The only clue is 4 ohm on the magnets. The installer at Best Buy had no clue, but says the same thing. Looks like I'll do the speaker upgrade first this weekend. I still can't believe I got an OEM Nav to work in my car.
