Mystery Wire/Hose?

Im really not sure what its called. Someone asked me where it went the other day. They said they usually see the middle of the vacuum manifold capped, theyve never actually seen a hose come off it. So I traced it down and took those pics. But I do know that if that thing is sucking air, you're loosing powah. I'll have to do some research to see what its function is.

Sounds good, and I would really like to know the "function" of this hose. Thanks! :th_popcorn:
Edit: It's sealed off good to last for now. Going to buy some brake cleaner and start testing some for more leaks while im at it. Two leaks at once so far..

Ok, apparently that line controls the switching of your airflow. I.E. Floor, Vent, Defrost. Have you noticed bad air flow, low heat or the controls not switching properly? I know in mine, when I switch to say, front defrost....I hear a little pssshhhh sound.

Yea, barely any air flow on full blast. And when I switch to to front top vents, or to bottom feet, It just blows everywhere evenly. Doesnt switch anywhere I want it to.

Seeing that youve been running like this for years....its up to you what you wanna do. You can leave your HVAC controls as they are and just take that hose off the vac manifold and cap it. Or just cap it where the hose is cut off. ( I would cap it right at the manifold, in case that hose is damaged between where its cut off and the manifold) If you want your HVAC to control like it should, you need to run a new line. You may need to check the dealership to find one. Either way, you need to kill that vac leak.

Ok, I got my Vac hose for the TB-EVAP. Replaced it and the car run SO much better. I tried to order the HVAC hose from the dealership but they had trouble identifying what I exactly needed. After finally finding that hose, he said that the hose splits and the first part which I have is discontinued. And he said that it doesn't go into the cabin and under the passenger dash. I should him picks but looks like he still thinks that I'm wrong. Im supposed to get a call from him today, he's going to try to get me that hose somehow.

Fixing my first vac leak made my car a lot better but at cruising speeds above 45 MPH usually, on a steady pedal/RPMs. The RPMs slowly go down to 900-1k. And something starts vibrating still. And lower speeds this is fine, flooring it and the car is beast. Just when I want to take it easy this happens, still not nearly as much/bad as before but still a little. I'm thinking LIM gasket will need to get replaced.

Ok, I got a phone call for my HVAC hose. It came in and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow morning. I know where it starts and where to ends. Is there a specific route I need hook it up to? Or can I "make" it fit? Lol

Edit: Fixed the problem. Turned on the car with a big puff of dust in the face. Pretty nice :)
