my trip computer/dic doesnt work !?!?

ok i just bought my 2000 GTP on last fri..and noticed that the Trip computer/DIC doesnt really work,it doesn't give avg mpgs,oil life,avg econ,boost gauge,etc..all i get it is blinking 0.0 in every mode..here is what mine looks like

could be corrosion on the connector behind the the DIC OR a bad connection all together i would pull it out and check that first ... I also noticed your Boost gauge isn't comming on in the picture ... could also be a bad DIC.
 
my car does this for about 5 min when i get into my car but if you hold reset it works and then the traction comes on
 


Could be a brick of a PCM.

Either that or its still in programming mode.

Check the connections to the PCM and if that doesnt help its time for a new one.

it's hard to search common three letter words that people use in their posts because the mods set the serach minimum to 4 characters. so there are "excessive" extra posts about CAI, DIC, HUD, L67, M90, etc... so how would he search for it if he's new and the answer isn't staring him in the face?
 
well i had some time today after i dropped a girl ik off at work,so i pilled the DIC out...there is not burn/surge marks on the circuit board at all and the plug is fine..so i looked the wires that lead to the male end of the plug,and they are ok too..guess this means i have a bricked DIC..were am i gonna find another GTP to steal one outta lol..this is one of two GTPs ive ever seen in my area.

i will have to re assemble mine and try this...i pushed reset b4 but didnt hold it..and would it make a diff if urs is the GT DIC and mines the GTP one?

EDIT-ok i tried it and took a lil 2 min drive and reset it like 3 times..still flashing 0's at me damn it

actually now mines not working at all, and it started after i got my starter replaced... damn mechanics
 


Mine was dead when I bought it. The guy said the battery went dead on him, so he replaced it and the DIC has never worked again. I checked all of the fuses I could find and they are all OK... So do these things go out all the time or what? Is there a fuse on the unit itself maybe?

yeah i 2nd this,idk if a dead batt caused mine but if there is somethin like that,itd be great.
