Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

My speeding ticket...and idiots...

Ok, so some have heard me complain in chat about my ticket...48 in a 35...not a big deal right? I mean, hell, the fine is only $35...

Except the court costs, even though I'm NOT going to court, are $183!! So grand total is $218. Wouldn't be a big deal if I weren't broke.

Now for the other part...I had a side job lined up to get the money to pay for this ticket. I had scheduled it almost two weeks in advance knowing the money would be going towards this ticket. I get a text today stating the guy has to back out on the work. Not because he's broke, but because he "wants to have his vehicle for the entire weekend since it's going to be nice out." Wow...thanks for the short notice cancellation, jackass. This now leaves me struggling to acquire some form of sidework or something to accumulate the money I need before the 14th when my ticket is due paid or NC is going to suspend my license.

So, for the record, I hate this state, and I hate assholes who cancel last minute. End rant.

Same shiz happened to me.12 dollar "breaking traction" ticket turned into 160 bucks quick,Its just the state wanting money.

Honestly if I wasn't moving and needed the monies for when i have to look for another job after I move I'd send ya some. I doubt explaining your situation will help at all. I know my buddy got a 60 in a 25 but he was in high school and still was able to drive but only to school and back.

Damn man when I got mine here it was a straight 150$ no fees just the straight price if it doesn't go to court. And mine was 20 over. Feel for ya. People are pretty naive when it comes to canceling work last minute... Think the only thing that matters is what works for them. Not what kind of problems it causes for the other party... Hate it

Is there anything you could sell? Or take a loan out on?

Ahhh...so you haven't heard about me...LOL I sold my GP to make this wonderful move to NC with my wife expecting $XXXXX a year. Well, it turned out that the state decided to f*ck teachers harder than ever, and in July, passed new legislation making it so career and technical education teachers made less money until they got bonafide bachelors degrees in whatever field they teach (I teach automotive.) So, I now make $XXXXX minus $4-5000. My budget wasn't based on that and I sold/pawned everything I own just to survive until this point. I know it was my fault for deciding to coast to the 35MPH speed instead of braking, but my truck needed brake pads, so I tried not to use them as much as possible. Costly mistake on my part.

Pay the ticket and payments for the court fees I don't think they can do anything to you that way.

Fine is paid in full and even if you make a partial payment on the court BS I think you'd be fine.

Yea I'm almost positive you have a bit of time to pay the court fees themselves. I know in the past I never paid those right away and usually just made what payments that i could at the time until it was all paid off.
