Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

my pride, ego, and my shifter cable

last night was Night of Fire 2012 at Kil-Kare. i've been pumped up for it for a couple weeks now and took the night off work to take the cobalt down there. couldn't have been a more appropriate name, it hit 104 degrees yesterday. track temp was over 150. not conducive for good times on a boosted car, but hell, there were only about 15 cars so i got my runs in. the seat time did me pretty well, i was hitting low 2.3 60' times all night. not bad for me i suppose. most of those turned into 14.6 quarter mile times; there simply wasn't any air to carry me down the track. and, the last run of the night, i laid down a 2.25 60' - a new PB- shifted into second smooth as silk, threw it really hard into third... POP! car won't go into gear. coasted off and after poking around a little bit, found that i broke the clip that attatched the cable to the shifter. i guess i must have been into it lol. pretty salty i didn't get to run that one out, it had potential to be a new PB quarter ET. still drove it home after a fight with my insurance company about a tow, but that's a different story, and i have everything fixed up now. seeing all the nitro cars and supercharged thunder cars, and the jet truck, was a really good time though, so not a terrible night

Never heard of someone breaking anything F23 related...

:joketimeuptop:

You need to wait until the fall to run that thing...and yank the TCS/ABS fuse out...buddy put down 5-10 more WHP with it out.

It helped my gold car too...even though it was a slow junker.

no kidding, my trap speeds were down 3mph. i think i'm done tracking this one till i have something else that can get me to work in the morning though, i'll count my blessings now that it was a synchronizer or clutch disc

If it makes you feel any better my auto, N/A, basically stock '07 'Balt went 16 flat @ 85.

That turbo and manual trans only gots 11 mph and 1.5 seconds on me :)

But I'm a ricer, don't worry.

that doesn't make me feel better at all. in fact, it makes me feel much worse.

there was an almost stock looking trans am there. lined up next to him, thinking i could maybe keep it respectable. cleaned my tires off and went to stage and was still hearing turbo and blow off valve. realized it wasn't me and became a spectator to watch him go 11 flat. i was far enough behind to see his time light up on the board, read it, realize i was still going, and got really sad lol

Clean off the tires?

Eff that.

Drive around water box.

Just go.

Street tires don't need anything at the strip.

I like the easy fixes... clip...not so bad.
until you go to get one and GM doesn't sell them seperate from the entire shifter assembly. after my employee discount, the dealership i work at was gonna charge me $217. so i drilled a hole through the clip and the little piece it clipped on to, and ran a bolt through them.

the yards around my house haven't had a single thing i've looked for, i think i'm 0 for 6. i ordered an aluminum clip from TWM Performance last night after the stock one broke beyond any chance of repair, it was a great way to spend $100. now hopefully the little nipple i drilled though holds up long enough for me to be able to afford the short throw i want. i can still keep the bolt through it so it has a little bit of structural integrity. the whole situation pretty much has me bummed
